VINTAGE CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS

Vintage Christmas ornaments are a big trend in home decor for this year.  Vintage refers to something of high quality from the past or products made in a certain era's style. Late 19th century and early 20th century blown glass Christmas ornaments are enjoying a rebirth of popularity.  Many people again appreciate the beauty of turn of the century holiday celebrations and the slower pace that allowed more family oriented holidays.

These Christmas glass ornaments are made in the old world by German glassblowers following in the steps of their family's ancestors.  The Inge-Glas company of Germany, for instance, is run by the 13th generation of the Muller-Blech family.  They use antique molds over 100 years old to produce some of their glass blown treasures.  Every year Inge-Glas brings several of these antique molds out of their vault and put them back into temporary production before returning them to the safety of the vault.
